My Inspirations ♥

I have been watching clips from Morning Musume concerts while my boyfriends plays on his xbox and I've decided that my two idols are quite apparent. So this is my blog post dedicated to the beautiful and talented Michishige Sayumi and Tanaka Reina.

Morning Musume is a Japanese pop group that's been around for years upon years. I am one of the biggest fans of Morning Musume ever. They're my favorite band, and if you've talked to me you've probably seen this in effect somehow. Anyway, there are "generations" of Morning Musume, and I decided a while ago that my favorite was their sixth generation, whose members are Michishige Sayumi, Tanaka Reina, Fujimoto Miki, and Kamei Eri.

Reina and Sayu are still in Morning Musume. I first loved Reina when I first learned about Morning Musume. My friends and I were going to cosplay them at an anime convention and we were to learn the dance to their song Resonant Blue. My part was Reina's part and I fell in love with her style C:

My love for Sayu has been much more recent. I've just learned how to appreciate her beauty and talent. (To be honest I hated her at first and wanted her to graduate from Morning Musume. How silly and naive I was!) My love for Sayu started with their recent single, Maji Desu ka Ska!.

Anyway, while watching the concert clips, I've realized I've lost a lot of what I used to be. I used to strive to be like Reina every day, her hair glitter, her earrings, her cute style and her beautiful makeup. Reina encouraged me to shine. And Sayumi encourages me to be better everyday. She often gets picked on by fans for her weak singing, however watching videos of her speak totally makes that irrelevant. She works so hard to sing and be as best she can, and she instills that same hope and perseverance in me.

So without further ado, I picture spam my favorite idols on the face of this earth to you!

My girls ♥

I think they're so wonderful and beautiful! I love them dearly. Not to say I don't care about the other members. I do more than words can say. ♥

These are definitely my biases.

Anyway, thank you for bearing with me showing the wota within me. I hope you guys have had a wonderful week and I'm about to post the second part to my new room posts. Expect that tomorrow (er... later today) and have a great day! ♥

Cadaver Lab (Trigger Warning)

Hello everyone! Last Friday was the start of spring break at my school, and it was also the day I went to the cadaver lab with my AP Biology class. It was a wonderful experience. I encourage anyone who has the opportunity to go, for it was a great learning experience and it was amazing. I loved it and had a great time. So now I will start to tell you. C:

My class left for the hospital at five and arrived at the hospital around six. One of the grad students named Kyle was the person leading the cadaver lab. He explained first where they get the bodies and the processes they go through to become preserved. After the short introduction, he explained that if any one of us needed to leave at any time to feel free to leave.

The actual hospital we went to

We then stepped inside the hospital- it was very big and extravagant. We all took a bathroom/water break and proceeded to go down into the morgue. My perception of how the morgue would be was totally different from what it was. it was clean and pristine like the rest of the hospital and about room temperature.

We entered the room and all put on these blue latex gloves. I was very annoyed because since the gloves didn't have any powder stuff I usually see on latex gloves, they stuck right up against my sweaty hands. It was disgusting and honestly, I think that was the worst part of the whole experience.

Morgues don't look like this in hospitals

We all sat on wooden stools around a big metal container thing that had wheels which annoyed me at points because while readjusting in my stool I would accidentally move it a lot. I could see the outline of the body in a black body bag. I was freaking out really hard at this point, thinking of going back.

The guy unzipped the body bag and as it went around I started to stress. My hand were sweating more and my gloves started to annoy me. Finally we saw the body. It was  discolored and had a yellow tint. It was a female in her eighties.

Pretty much looked like this

I got to hold most of the organs, including the heart, brain, liver, and lungs. The biggest surprise throughout the whole thing was probably the orientation of the lungs and the size of everything. I never knew how truly high up the lungs were.

The best part- in my opinion- was holding the brain. I flipped it over so it was upside down and I saw all of the "cords" that connect it to the spinal cord. There were many arteries at the base and it looked like the roots of a plant, which I found to be very interesting. The most disappointing part of the experience was the fact that the woman had a hysterectomy, meaning she had none of her reproductive organs. I was definitely looking forward to seeing a uterus and such, but I guess I'll have to wait until next time.

Not the brain I held, but see what I mean about the cords?

In all this, definitely helped determine whether I'll be a doctor- in favor of being a doctor- and I hope that when I have an internship with a hospital next year I will finally decide my career choice.

The funniest parts of the whole experience were when we saw a sign on the "amputations bin" saying "When disposing of limbs on weekends and evenings, LEAVE A NOTIFICATION" as well as my friend Ryan's comment "It is sad that the first actual vagina I've seen is that of an 86 year old dead woman" (note that his mom laughed the hardest at that one. xD)

A Little from AP Bio

Hello everyone. I hope you're doing well! I stayed home from school today because I was feeling very unwell. I think I become dehydrated yesterday. :/ Anyway,  I'm particularly excited because I will be going to a cadaver lab tomorrow! On the subject of biology...

Well, in my AP Biology class we've been studying the Kingdom Animalia and the various phyla. This is kind of random, especially since my blog is very kawaii-based, however, I want to educate my readers a little bit I guess, and explain why the phylum Cnidaria is my personal favorite of all the other phyla. So here it goes!

Cnidaria is part of the Radiata dichotomy. They're thought to be the second oldest, most primitive and simple organisms, next to Porifera (sponges). Cnidarians have radial symmetry and diploblastic embryos, meaning they have two layers; the ectoderm and endoderm. Unlike humans, they lack mesoderms. Cnidarians are characterized by having a body plan that is a sac with a gastrovascular cavity, aka digestive system.

Organisms in the phylum Cnidaria include hydras, jellyfish, sea anemones, and coral animals. There are two different variations of Cnidarians; the sessile polyp and the floating medusa. Polyps are cylindrical forms that stick to surfaces and let their tencales free to catch prey, whereas medusas are upside down bowl-like organisms with hanging tentacles used to catch prey.

Cnidarians also excrete awesome.

I quite enjoy this phylum, and I hope you do as well. I apologize for my lack of posting, my absence, and upon my return one of the most random posts ever. Soon to come is a part 2 and 3 for my new room, as well as a post about the key to amateur decoden, and a couple outfit posts, as I will be trying out some fairy-kei coordinates. I'll probably post about my cadaver lab experience sometime during the weekend. I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!
